Saffron Aloe herbal cream

Sharing here my favorite and highly rated face cream by family and friends. This cream gives the natural glow and treats acne, sun burns, eczema, melasma. (Based on the feedback)

The herb that I used is Calendula, poor man's saffron. Other herbs like lavender, rose, chamomile, mint , dandelion can be substituted as well.

Ingredients and why I chose them:

1. Calendula is a natural and safe solution for acne , sun burns, rashes etc. Being anti fungal and anti inflammatory , I religiously use calendula infused oil in most of my skin products.
2. Sunflower oil for infusion, it's light and suitable for all skin types and also extra protective of damaged skin.
3. Mango butter - a very rich moisturizing butter , healing and soothing helps increasing youthful appearance
4. Aloe vera gel - natural medicine to treat burns with abundant anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties.
5. Tea tree, holy basil essential oils

Measurements:
2 tbsp calendula infused sunflower oil
1 tbsp mango butter
1 tbsp aloe vera gel
2-3 drops of tea tree and holy basil essential oils
Few strands of saffron

Procedure:
1. Using double boiler method , heat mango butter and oil until the butter is melted.
2. Remove the mixture from heat and place in refrigerator for 30-45 minutes until it firm's up to the consistency of a soft salve.
3. Using a fork stir well. Add aloe vera gel and essential oils. Stir or blend vigorously until the mixture start to trim opaque and creamy.
4. Finally add few strands of saffron, give a mild stir.
5. Set it aside for 10-15 minutes to have a thickened cream.

Note:
Since no preservatives are used store the cream in a cool area or refrigerator. Usually I store in cool area and use within a month of preparation. Since the cream has small amount of liquid , it's very rich and a little bit goes a long way.
